Evaluation and Grading Procedures 

Evaluation in this course will be accomplished with a combination of Multiple Choice/Short Answer questions (lectures and discussions), Essays (lectures), and Identification (ID) questions from laboratories.  In addition there will be homework assignments and discussion problems.

A total of about 287 points is anticipated to be distributed approximately as follows:

Quiz One (19 points; ~ 7%)

            One MC/SA question per Lectures 1-10

            Three ID questions per Labs 1-3

MidTerm 1 (75 points; ~ 26 %)

            One MC/SA question per Lectures 1-10

            Two MC/SA question per Lectures 11-18

            Four Essay questions (10 points each)

            Three ID questions per Labs 4-6

Quiz Two (14 points; ~ 5 %)

            One MC/SA question per Lectures 19-26

            Three ID questions per Labs 7-8

MidTerm 2 (68 points; ~ 23 %)

            One MC/SA question per Lectures 19-26

            Two MC/SA questions per Lectures 27-36

            Four essay questions (10 points each)

Laboratory Final (50 points ~ 17%) Five ID questions per Laboratories 1-10

Homework Assignments (36 points ~ 12%)

Discussion Assignments (25 points ~ 9%)

End of Semester Grading will approximate 90% (A), 80% (B), and 70% (C)
